With American demand for clean energy soaring, the need for a strong, reliable solar supply chain has never been greater. That’s why domestic solar manufacturing is more than just an economic opportunity—it’s a strategic necessity. Investing in U.S. production strengthens energy independence, creates jobs, and builds a more sustainable future.

How 45X is Powering the U.S. Solar Industry
To accelerate domestic manufacturing, the Advanced Manufacturing Production Tax Credit (45X MPTC) provides direct incentives for producing clean energy components in the U.S. This credit applies to solar trackers, inverters, battery components, and critical minerals, among other key parts of the renewable energy ecosystem.
What makes 45X unique? Instead of a flat tax break, it rewards manufacturers based on output, ensuring that incentives go to companies actively producing at scale. While the credit will start phasing out in 2030, its impact is already being felt—helping ramp up production, lower costs, and make U.S. solar manufacturing globally competitive.

Economic Growth and Job Creation
Since 2022, U.S. solar panel production has more than quintupled, surpassing 50 GW for the first time in February 2025. Domestic solar manufacturing brings one of the fastest-growing industries in the world to U.S. workers, creating thousands of high-paying, stable jobs.
The U.S. solar industry already employs over 279,000 workers and has attracted over $60 billion of private investment in the American economy. These jobs aren’t limited to engineering and manufacturing; they extend to logistics, installation, marketing, administration, and maintenance. Building domestic solar manufacturing strengthens American communities and provides even more career opportunities in clean energy.
Energy Security: A Stronger, More Resilient Supply Chain
Solar is now the fastest-growing energy source in the U.S., but relying on overseas supply chains leaves the industry vulnerable to delays, price swings, and geopolitical uncertainties. By increasing domestic production, we reduce reliance on imports and ensure greater control over our energy infrastructure.
A strong U.S. solar manufacturing base means faster deployment, more stable pricing, and a cleaner, more resilient energy grid. Energy independence starts with a strong supply chain, and domestic solar manufacturing is a critical piece of that puzzle.

Sustainability Beyond Solar
Solar energy is inherently a much more sustainable energy solution—but where and how solar components are made matters. Producing solar equipment domestically means lower emissions from transportation, stricter environmental regulations, and cleaner manufacturing processes compared to many overseas facilities.
Keeping production local lowers the solar industry's carbon footprint even further – a win for clean energy, the environment, and the communities where these products are made.
GameChange’s Commitment to U.S. Manufacturing – Since 2012
At GameChange Solar, we’re committed to onshoring solar manufacturing and strengthening U.S. supply chains since day one. We’ve sourced manufacturing in the U.S. since 2012, building a robust and well-established production base that supports long-term industry growth and energy security. As one of the top three solar tracking companies, we continue to keep solar jobs and production here at home, ensuring a more resilient and self-sufficient supply chain.
“Domestic solar manufacturing allows us to build components quickly and cost-effectively, providing greater value to our customers while increasing our nation’s energy independence,” says Phil Vyhanek, GameChange Solar’s President & COO. “Through 45X tax credits, we’re helping drive a resurgence in domestic production. These credits directly benefit many communities across both red and blue states. Everyone needs reliable, U.S.-sourced electricity and reliable, U.S.-sourced jobs.”
Our team partners with Rust Belt and Midwest manufacturers, including former automotive suppliers now producing solar components. These partnerships revitalize local economies and ensure a stable, U.S.-based supply chain that reduces reliance on imports and global disruptions.
“GameChange has contributed directly to the support of investment in factories and American jobs – most recently, by supporting 17 factories and over 2,600 jobs created since Congress passed the 45X provision,” says Mark Gibbens, GameChange’s Chief Financial Officer, Mark Gibbens.
By focusing on domestic production, we reinforce our commitment to delivering high-quality, cost-effective solar tracking solutions while helping to build a stronger, more independent, clean energy future. As demand for solar continues to grow, we’ll keep investing in U.S. manufacturing—because a stronger solar industry means a stronger America.
